Dear Friend,

NEED TO UPDATE Recently, Mobility Dogs set out to discover how familiar donors and supporters are with our work and the way we do it. Through those surveys, your feedback has been amazingly helpful and we can't thank you enough for taking the time to assist us.

We now recognise there is more to do in sharing the true impact of our specially trained dogs on the community. We also acknowledge that many people aren't aware of our breadth of services, and there's still some confusion around our independence with some mistakenly believe we're connected to similar type organisations. Without these results, we wouldn't have known to address these issues, so we are grateful to everyone.

We will be launching an awareness campaign over the coming months and have also formed a series of Q & A sessions over the next few newsletters. We will be answering some of your recurring questions / themes, and hope you find it insightful. If we have missed your question or would like to send us one, please email us on fundraising@mobilitydogs.co.nz and we can include it in the next issue.

I am also excited to announce that we have two new puppies in our training programme, Basil and Oakley! At ten weeks old, they are just starting their transformational journey to becoming life-changing partners. To become a part of their journey, please join our Puppy Sponsorship programme - you can sign up today for as little as $5 a week, or email us to start your direct credit. If you haven't thought about it yet, I ask that you please consider Mobility Dogs when the time is right for you.

Please enjoy our latest newsletter. Thank you once again for supporting our extraordinary, life-changing dogs—true heroes to their partners and the wider community.

Kindest regards,

Jody Wilson

General Manager

Q: It's just such a shame that there isn't wider government support to allow you to do more as I know there are so many people who could benefit from one of your dogs.

A: Yes, we are disappointed there is no government funding for Mobility Dogs too, but we continue to advocate for support in this area. In the meantime, year-round fundraising remains essential to ensure our specially trained dogs reach the New Zealanders who need them most.

Q: We would love to see Mobility Dogs at public family / social events, and more visits to our Clubs!

A: We would love to, but a visit from one of the dogs in training can often be different from what you expect. As they are working, they cannot be patted or touched. They are also trained to be focused and calm in the face of a lot of sounds, smells and people, so sometimes the environment is not the best place for them to be depending on how far along the training programme they are. We always act in the best interest of the dog.

Q: Could a well-known personality to help promote Mobility Dogs?

A: We consider our clients and their Mobility Dogs, puppy-raisers and our trainers to be our amazing ambassadors. They know first-hand the impact these dogs have on our community.

Q: Please spread your services further around the country and share more of your long-term vision and goals for the supporters to get in behind

A: Need the response for this

Q: Other charities have a donation / sponsorship portal, could Mobility Dogs?

A: Some larger charities do have login portals for donors and their sponsorship info. That is definitely something that we aspire to for our donors. However, currently our budget does not extend that far, at the moment our donations go directly to funding our life-changing dogs for Kiwis living with a disability.
