Volunteer Spotlight

Anusha and Yajat became friends in medical school and are now colleagues at the same hospital.  They enjoy working together and often facilitate sessions for The Water Well Project as a team.

Insights & Highlights

The Water Well Project is delighted to be participating in the Own It! Cervical Cancer Screening Campaign supported by the Australian Multicultural Health Collaborative (AMHC).

The primary goal of this project is to address disparities in cervical cancer screening rates by actively reaching out to multicultural communities who may face barriers to accessing healthcare due to language or cultural factors.

This important work will see the delivery of cervical cancer screening information to communities from Arabic, Hindi, Punjabi, Mandarin, Cantonese and Vietnamese speaking communities in Victoria, NSW and Tasmania.

ABC News Breakfast - Health Segment

ABC News Breakfast launched a new health segment, where our founder Dr Linny Phuong, relevant to The Water Well Project - spoke about one of the biggest threats to public health today- misinformation.

They unpacked the difference between misinformation and disinformation, talked about why social media can be both helpful and harmful, and shared tips on how to spot false health claims- from miracle cures to viral trends like chlorophyll water.  You can watch this interesting conversation here:
