Kuba Enoch at Birkenau, as part of the 2007 Student Program.

It is with great sadness that we recently learned of the passing of Holocaust Survivor Kuba Enoch z"l.

Kuba was one of the Survivors who accompanied the 2007 Australian Student March of the Living delegation along its unforgettable journey, alongside his son Steven and grandson Boaz (student participant). His contribution was immeasurable, and there is no doubt that the experiences of all the students and staff were enriched through his presence, and by his willingness, openness and generosity in sharing his life's story.

We wish the whole Enoch and extended family a long life and send them our sincerest condolences - may Kuba's memory, story, life and legacy be a blessing.

Monash University Holocaust Study
Participants still required!

Daliya Greenfeld, a PhD candidate from Monash University (VIC), is currently conducting a research project which aims to expand the current knowledge on whether and, if so, how people adapt to significant events in their grandparents' life. In particular, previous research has shown intergenerational effects of past events' legacy on the resilience and growth of children of Holocaust survivors, natural disaster survivors, and families of war veterans. The research project aims to investigate two distinct samples of people: those who have at least one grandparent who survived the Holocaust and those whose grandparents were not survivors of the Holocaust, and assess whether these past experiences impact the grandchildren.

As such, Daliya is looking for Jewish Australians over 18 years old whose grandparents are/were Holocaust survivors, as well as those whose grandparents are/were not Holocaust survivors to enable her to compare responses (she is in particular need of participants who fall into the latter category).

Participation in the project is totally voluntary and involves completing an anonymous survey that is estimated to take 30 to 45 minutes to complete. The survey can be completed from any internet-connected device.

The research project has been approved by the Monash University Human Research Ethics Committee.

If you have any questions/queries and would like to contact Daliya directly, you can do so via email by clicking here.

CLOSE TO 6,000 SIGNATURES AND 30 PARTNER ORGANISATIONS

Antisemitism is on a global rampage. We cannot allow history to repeat itself - verbally and physically - on our streets, in our neighbourhoods, and in our cities.

We have learned and witnessed with our own eyes the brutal and inhumane consequences of unchecked antisemitism and unbridled universal hatred.

Many of us, alumni and friends of the International March of the Living, of many faiths and backgrounds, have personally marched on the blood-stained grounds of Auschwitz-Birkenau and heard first-hand testimony from survivors of these atrocities.

We have all painfully learned how "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing."

Hatred, Racism, Bigotry or Intolerances of any form have no place in our world.

We invite all who believe in our message to join us by clicking here to sign our petition ensuring a better future for all.
