The 2025 MOTL group visiting the JCC in Krakow today.

Dear ,

Greetings from Poland. After many months of preparation and anticipation we have finally arrived in Krakow and commenced our trip.

A real honour to be here on the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

It is remarkable that 80 Holocaust survivors will be leading the March this year, including Dr Mark Spigelman from Sydney.

Our amazing  group of participants have had a chance to introduce themselves to each other,  and explore some of the key sites of Krakow's Old Town and Jewish Quarter.

Mark Spigelman shared his powerful story of survival with the group, and introduced us to his 6 family members who have joined him on the trip. Thank you to all of them for being here with us.

We look forward to keeping you updated on our journey through our social media channels, and you can watch the official MOTL ceremonies live on the links below.

Watch the March of the Living Live

The 2025 March of the Living from Auschwitz I to Auschwitz II-Birkenau is dedicated to the 80th Anniversary of the end of World War II and the liberation of the concentration camps in Nazi-occupied Europe.

This profound event will provide a historic opportunity to honor the memory of those who perished in the Holocaust, pay tribute to those fortunate to survive and recognize the sacrifices and triumphs of the Allied forces who liberated Hitler's camps and secured victory in WWII. It will be accompanied by a global virtual educational program enabling descendants to share the personal stories of their parents or grandparents.

This event serves as a stark reminder of the atrocities of the past and a powerful call to action against contemporary antisemitism, racism and intolerance.

Yom Hashoah Commemorations 2025

What was lost and what endures | Melbourne

'What Was Lost and What Endures,' reflects both the immense loss and destruction of the Holocaust, as well as the resilience and survival that followed.

The title draws inspiration from a line in Israel's national anthem, Hatikvah (The Hope): "Od Lo Avda Tikvatenu" – "Our hope is not yet lost." In many ways, it is this enduring hope that allowed so many to survive and persevere.
