The 2005 Adult  MOTL group at their 20 year Reunion

Dear ,

I'm emailing you from the Gold Coast after spending a few days at the Australian Mayors Summit Against Antisemitism.

An important gathering of civic and Jewish leaders where we discussed ways we can collaboratively combat antisemitic hate in this country.

Below are reports from two recent events:

- Victorian Politicians Reflecting on their time in Poland and Israel earlier this year.

- The launch of the Miriam Orski Memorial Scholarship in Sydney.

Thanks to everyone who attended these wonderful gatherings.

The MOTL community continues to expand with over 2400 Australians having now participated on our program.

Politicians Reflecting on their MOTL Trip

2025 saw the first official bipartisan delegation to participate in the March of the Living program. Organised by MOTLA in conjunction with the co-convenors of the Parliamentary Friends of Israel, Paul Hamer (Member for Box Hill) and David Southwick (Member for Caulfield). Sue Hampel OAM - founder of MOTLA and Co-President of the MHM - guided this extraordinary program.

Last month we gathered at the Melbourne Holocaust Museum where the politicians shared reflections and insights from the trip, and what they plan to do moving forward to ensure the Shoah is not forgotten and antisemitism is not allowed to fester in Victoria.

Miriam Orski Memorial Scholarship Launch

Brothers Avi and Gil Orski have chosen to honour the memory of their late mother Miriam with the establishment of the Miriam Orski Memorial Scholarship. The three of them participated in the MOTL program together in 2019.

150 people gathered in Sydney last month to hear about Miriam's legacy, learn more about the MOTL program and its impact, and listen to the inaugural recipient, Rabbi Sam Zwarenstein. Sam was in conversation with Kevin Smaller where they had an insightful conversation about the power of the MOTL experience and the key lessons learned.

Over $40,000 has been generously donated by the Orski's friends and family. You can see the fundraising page here. What a meaningful way to celebrate Miriam and the values she stood for.
