Kia ora , What a month!
The official awareness week may be over, but every week is a good week to focus on your mental health. Why not set yourself a reconnection challenge for the summer holidays?
Jump onto the website and download the MHAW guide.
We are also excited to be bringing back our fundraising heroes. Each month we'll highlight one of our amazing fundraisers and tell you a little about what they're up to, and what has motivated them to fundraise for better mental health.
Plus, keep reading for reminders about Pink Shirt Day, the general election and spring cleaning.

It's time for a Spring Clean!
As the days get a little longer and summer is approaching, a spring clean may be on your to do list. If you're thinking of having a good old clear out and refresh, this could be a great chance to give back to your local charity shop.
If you're based in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland, our friends at The Collective would love to have your pre-loved clothes and furniture. Louise and the team at The Collective are passionate mental health advocates and donate 50% of their profits to support our mahi.
You could even run a clothes drive at work, encouraging your hoamahi to get amongst it! The Collective offer collection boxes for donated clothes and will even come pick up your boxes after your clothes drive is finished.
If you're interested, feel free to get in touch with The Collective at team@thecollective.co.nz. |

Policy and Advocacy Update:
Our Policy and Advocacy team has been hard at work creating our 2023 General Election Statement. This presents a wero (challenge) to political parties ahead of the 2023 election asking what actions they will take to transform our mental health and addiction system to better protect and improve the mental wellbeing of all people.
To help the parties, we present our vision for change, and some examples of tangible actions that can be adopted to reach a safe, strong, supportive mental health and addiction system.
You can check out our 2023 General Election Statement here
Our Policy and Advocacy work is fully funded by generous donors and fundraisers like yourself. If you’d like to support this vital part of our mahi please donate now. |
Thank you again for your continued support.
Wishing you, your whānau and friends all the best as we welcome in spring and the change of season. Nāku iti nei, Ali & the Mental Health Foundation team |
