Greetings everyone.
June has been a month of blessings and July is promising to be equally blessed.
The Lord has gone before us and the support we are receiving is amazing. Opportunities have opened for us to share our vision and mission to audiences we have never before been able to engage with. The radio advertising programs have resulted in many people reaching out to enquire about volunteering, becoming guests and becoming financial supporters. Fundraising events have been blessed. New forms of raising awareness are also popping up. Can you picture the sails on a sailboat bearing the Kairos logo? Praise the Lord for the abundance of blessings he has bestowed upon us!
Praise Points -
Two Short Courses were run in June, and we welcomed 34 graduates into the Kairos family. The Mobilong and Dillwynia teams did awesome jobs in witnessing to the love and forgiveness of our Lord and Saviour and bonded well with the participants. Correctional Centre staff, Chaplains and Governors were extremely supportive.
- A Guest Weekend was held in Perth on 10 to 12 July and 10 guests were welcomed into the Kairos family.

We were notified that we have been given permission to present a Short Course to inmates in the Clarence Correctional Centre in October this year and that management is open to us running a Short Course for female inmates in early 2027.
- Registrations to attend the National Conference in Adelaide have closed as we have sold out. It should be a fabulous time of learning and fellowship, and I am looking forward to meeting with you all.

Team formation has been completed for the KO South Coast Guest Weekend which will be held in August. The four-day live-in team formation gathering was recently conducted and everything went smoothly.

Core team training was completed for combined Kairos Outside Queensland Regions Guest Weekend team which is being hosted by Kairos Outside North Queensland Regional Committee. Four AKT trainers flew to Cairns to conduct AKT training and oversee the core team training. Sixteen volunteers attended. See photos below.
- Preparations are underway for KO North Queensland team formation which will be held in Townsville next month.

KI AKT training was successfully conducted in Brisbane with five trainers and nine volunteers in attendance.
- Abundant thanks for the generous donors who have continued to support us.
- Grateful thanks for the public response to recent fundraising activities conducted around Australia by various Regional Committees.
Prayer Points -
We pray that our annual conference will go smoothly and that there will be no travel disruptions
- We pray that St Helliers team formation may go smoothly
- We pray for safe travel for Colin, Tony and Deb as they fly to Orlando to attend the 50th annual international conference being held in late July.
- We pray for healing and a return to good health for those of our volunteers who are unwell currently. Please be assured that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

We pray that congregations at which our volunteers are doing presentations will be open to hearing about our ministry, moved to support us by becoming volunteers, providing prayer support, giving financial support or to pass on information of Kairos Outside Guest Weekends to women they know who may be eligible to attend a weekend.

We also pray that any women who have been impacted by the incarceration of a family member or friend will be open to accepting an invitation to attend a Kairos Outside Guest Weekend.
- We pray that both our volunteers and Kairos Support Office staff may be blessed with continued good health or speedy recovery from illness.

We pray for those Regions experiencing delays in returning to correctional centres that they may continue to be patient and place their trust in our Lord to provide opportunities at his appointed time.
Praise to you our Lord Jesus Christ for the privilege to be able to continue to be your hands and feet as we witness to your abundant love and forgiveness providing hope in place of despair. I look forward to catching up with many of you at our National Conference in Adelaide at the end of August. It will be wonderful to meet you face to face. AKT - KI and KO - Register Now
AKT training for both Kairos Inside and Kairos Outside was conducted in Queensland this month with AKT trainers for each ministry line conducting the training in Brisbane and Cairns. Sixteen volunteers attended the Cairns event, and nine volunteers attended the Brisbane event. There will be another KO AKT course being run in late October in the Hunter Valley for those volunteers who were unable to attend the Cairns event. No further KI AKT courses will be run his year. |

KI Mid North Coast (Men) #19 - A Deeply Worthwhile Experience
The men inside were the reason for every training session, every planning meeting, every late night and every challenge encountered along the way. Seeing their participation, openness, emotional engagement and willingness to embrace the experience reaffirmed the purpose of the ministry.
It also highlighted the value of collaboration between volunteers, chaplaincy personnel and correctional staff in creating opportunities for meaningful engagement, encouragement and positive personal reflection, while maintaining focus on the people we are called to serve.
Despite challenges and obstacles, I believe the week achieved something meaningful. Lives were touched, relationships were strengthened and opportunities were created for healing, forgiveness, hope and spiritual growth. Importantly, the course also provided participants with opportunities for personal reflection, positive decision-making and the development of healthier perspectives for the future. KI Dillwynia #25 - Prayer is Key
What a privilege it was to be part of the Dillwynia #25 Kairos which ended on Friday 19th June 2026, and to serve our Lord over this time, during the short course. God has brought His team together and each member stepped up when 3 of our team needed to withdraw due to health issues. These three are doing well and will join in the Journey programme on Sundays. I am in awe of what our great God accomplished during the week. We saw hearts softening and minds opening as our guests saw the love shown by our team, and the pray-ers on the Prayer Vigil. Some were commenting they were amazed that all these people would want to spend their time praying for them!! Our initial guests of 18 arrived on Tuesday, however over the week, some of our guests were called for court appearances via video link. This meant they were unable to attend our short course for that day, thus making them ineligible to rejoin the short course.
We know our God is great and even the guests, some of whom only attended one day, were able to hear about Jesus. We pray the seeds sown can be used to awaken their desire to learn more about God's love for them.
At our Closing, our graduates heard from a previous graduate (from Berrima gaol) – Sarah – who encouraged them to keep learning, keep praying and keep meeting with other believers. She also encouraged our guests to share God's love with others. The Acting Governor, Michael, and our Chaplain Sister Theresa, also encouraged our graduates to keep learning and growing in their faith.
May I encourage you to keep our graduates and those who couldn't finish the course, in your prayers. Pray that they may keep learning, praying and seeking out other believers. Board Update
At the June Board meeting the Strategic Five Year Plan 2026 – 2030 and the Statement of Governance 2026-2030 were approved for release. These will be available for viewing in MyKairosOz on the website shortly. The Board also approved the release of the Audited Financial statements for 30 June 2026. These have now been lodged with the ACNC here. |

Resources for You
Creating and sharing agape is a wonderful way to bless our regions, their guests, participants and volunteers. Agape files are now moved to Kairos Google folders. There's been 10 emails received pertaining to agape since May.
On the 15 May, 28 fresh agape posters were emailed to All Australian Agape Coordinators. See a few examples of agape for your information below.

As Sue presented to Kairos State Council South Australia, she shared about the two Agape roles, one, a valued team member, and one a valued member on the Regional Committee. The two roles can be confusing for the new kid on the block and if you are an Agape Coordinator you might want to ask your leader, or Regional Chair 'which one am I?" If you have any questions or need some advice, simply email Sue at agape@kairos.org.au.

New Kairos Outside Flyer
A fresh new KO A4 flyer has been produced to help our KO Regions when reaching out to potential Guests or sharing information. We had some great input and feedback from current KO volunteers to make sure this will appeal to potential Guests. This will work alongside the existing brochures and postcards.
This A4 flyer allows you to open and customise the area on page 2 with your local Region contact details. Include your Region name, a Kairos contact email (don't use personal emails) and a phone number if applicable. You can then save it, print or send via email as an attachment.

Online Forms EI for KI
The new Excellence Initiative form for Kairos Inside has been launched and is on MyKairosOz. The form is now in 2 parts - pre program and post program. You can view the forms now on MKO and read the help document.
EI for KO remains as is for now and we hope to launch the online form version very soon. Team Member Form
As advised in the last Volunteer News, the Team Member Information Application and Agreement form is now online. Please do not use the old PDF form or hard copy forms. This is the updated approved version. Many of you have already used it and seen how easy it is. Available on MKO now. |

Clarification of Program Guidelines from KPMI
Kairos Prison Ministry International has granted Kairos Prison Ministry Australia permission to continue using the terms Regional Committee instead of "Advisory Council", State Council instead of "State Chapter" and Short Course instead of "Kairos Inside Weekend". They have also confirmed that the minimum age of angels in Australia is 18 years of age. Kairos Inside Regional Committees have been given the option of using either Rooster or Kelpie in the Rooster story. They also provided clarification on a few other issues which have recently arisen: - The Kairos Prison Ministry Australia policy on not having a child's age on Agape prepared by children has been confirmed. (consent granted by Kairos Prison Ministry International).

Head Kitchen leader and Assistant Kitchen leader must be of the same gender as the inmates in the facility in which we are presenting a Short Course. Other outside kitchen team are angels. Their service is not counted in the three on one off rule. They are permitted to assist in bringing in the meals but must not enter the community room or to serve the meals.

Fundraising Ideas
We have developed a fundraising guide which we hope you will find useful. Final touches are being made and it will be launched soon on MyKairosOz. KO Hunter recently ran a music night which raised over $3,000. A generous donor then matched the amount raised! See the photo below of the night. Kairos Outside Wide Bay Capricorn Regional Committee is being extremely active on the fundraising front. They are conducting a couple of special fundraisers: - A Krispy Cream Fundraiser in Mackay.
- A book launch - One of their volunteers Denise Roberts has recently published a beautiful book of devotions called Creation Speaks. The book is available for purchase. Denise has sent me twenty copies. They are selling for $20 per book. Please contact me if you would like to buy a copy. See the front and back cover below.
- The Regional committee will also be conducting regular market stalls in Serena and at Blue Water Quay selling craft items and books. Other Regions have been busy successfully running BBQ's, stalls and morning teas raising awareness for Kairos as well as much needed funds. It is wonderful to witness the energy and drive which Regions have. |

Kairos Google Cloud - File Storage
All Region and State emails were sent an email from Bruce at the KSO in April to advise that we have created an area in our Kairos Google Cloud where all of your Region email-logins can share files/folders. This is addition to the existing Kairos Google Cloud folders for Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and Volunteer History.
We ask all Regions to start moving files to the Kairos Google folders to ensure information is secure and available for future Committees - do not use personal drives, personal cloud storage (like your own Google drive or Dropbox etc) or personal computer storage as this is not secure.
Later this year we will be asking Regional Chairs, Secretaries, Treasurers & Leaders etc… to store Kairos files in the Kairos Google cloud, rather than their local computers. There are several benefits to this change: - Backups are made every night. Lose a file and we can restore it for you.
- Much easier to hand information on to the next person in your role, they get access, then can see all the files for your role.
- Your Kairos information is not lost to Kairos when your computer dies, you move, etc…
- Excellent security around your Kairos Google cloud information.

- Region Shared Area

Using BCC Following the launch of the Email Policy, I would like to remind everyone on the use blind carbon copy (bcc) on emails. It is very important that we all protect volunteer privacy this includes not sharing peoples private email addresses. An easy way to do this is to bcc recipients.
The image shows instructions on how to use the bcc function on three email versions when you send out emails – one for Google Mail, one for Outlook Classic and one for Outlook New. Click on the image to view a larger version.
