Grace and Peace to you Friend,

Isaiah 9:6

6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

God's gift to all humankind; the birth of the Christ child. His purpose was to be the perfect sacrifice, taking on the sin of humanity and thereby securing our salvation. Our relationship with God has been restored by Grace, through faith in Him.

Isn't this the message that unites all Christian people in the ministry of Kairos? This message has not and will never lose its power. The Holy Spirit continually convicts us of this truth and holds us firmly in the faith.

I am conscious of the many other gifts God gives to each of us. Maslow's Hierarchy succinctly orders them as follows:

  • Physiological wellbeing consisting of food, shelter and our daily needs.
  • Safety, in terms of health, employment, property and social stability.
  • Love and belonging with family and friends gives us a sense of connection.
  • Esteem, where we have respect of others and self, with confidence that we can also be an individual.
  • Finally, Self-Actualisation is meaning and purpose in life with a sense of morality and creativity.

These are all gifts that come from a loving God.

There is the gift of being in partnership with Him in ministry too.  God's love is such that we become his co-workers, despite our foibles, to do His work on earth.

Proverbs 14:31

"Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker,

but whoever is kind to the needy honours God."

All humans are made in the image of God, and we should treat vulnerable brothers and sisters with compassion and justice.  So, it is with thanks I say to all of you, no matter what role you play, you are all an important part of the Ministry that is Kairos.

May God bless you all as you become a gift to others.

A first time Volunteer and a veteran Volunteer on his 25th Program!

I have to say that the four days spent at Parklea were the most profound spiritual experience I have ever had. I have found my primary purpose and ministry in life at the age of 76!  The program has been developed with great insight and wisdom over many years, and the content of each of the talks is designed to unpack a process of reflection for the prisoners which helps them to recognise their potential – and God's amazing plan for their lives.  It was deeply moving to see the Holy Spirit impacting men in such a powerful way...read more

Thank You

It's been quite a year for Kairos in Australia.  We give thanks to God for His love and guidance during this time.

A special thanks to our dedicated Volunteers who have continued to support our Programs through so many different ways such as agape, training our people, working in the support teams providing food and transport, ministering in face to face programs, prayer, our Board members and much, much more.

Pray with us

Kairos only runs thanks to God at work through our volunteers and programs! We rely on people like you who partner with us in prayer.

This month please pray for:

  • Participants and Guests as they hear the Gospel.
  • Team members as they present the Gospel in the coming months.
  • For women impacted by a family member or friend in prison to hear about Kairos Outside.
  • The Chaplains for the work required to enable Kairos to operate within the Correctional Facility.
  • For all our Volunteers in Kairos and those in the Kairos Support Office who will be taking a break over the Christmas and new year period and that they will come back in 2025 refreshed and renewed.
