Grace and Peace to you Friend from our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
As we meditate in this season of lent on the events of the passion of our Lord, I would like to use Paul's message to the church in Corinth as recorded in 1Corinthians 15:16-22.
"For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.
But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.
For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.
For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive."
As an ecumenical Christian ministry, we stand on common ground with the simple but profound message. Christ crucified and RISEN and because of this, God's Grace is offered to all; salvation for a new life now and with the hope of eternal life with Him in heaven.
Love, Hope and Faith are the fundamentals in our Vision:
A community spiritually freed from the effects of imprisonment reaching all impacted by incarceration, through the love, hope and faith found in Jesus Christ.
Listen, Listen, Love, Love is our motto. Hope is what God offers, and Faith is the "glue" that binds us to the promises from God. God bless you all over this Easter period and beyond. |

Testimony - Empty Pockets I have a testimony from a volunteer on his first Kairos Program that I know will encourage you.
While there are many accounts of Jesus sending his disciples out on a mission (e.g. Matthew 10, Mark 6, Luke 10), they all have one curious command in common: take nothing with you. As a new volunteer on a recent Kairos Inside Short Course, I had the opportunity to practice this command literally as I entered the Wolston Correctional Centre with nothing but myself. No wallet, no keys, no phone. Not even a Bible.
Like the disciples, the physical emptying of my pockets allowed a spiritual emptying to occur. It allowed me to open up and trust that God would provide all that was needed for the ministry. Of course, God provided more than what we could have ever expected, and by the end of the week several things stuck out from my experience... read more

Testimony - Answered Prayer
This story is a great encouragement about the power of prayer at a recent Program. How wonderfully God revealed Himself to the Participants of Kairos Inside Women's Short Course #5, answering the faith prayers of so many.
From the morning of Day one, through to the Closing Ceremony, the women who attended were open & searching. They were sensitive to the Holy Spirit's presence in the centre from the beginning. Coming in on Tuesday morning saying – we can feel the love & joy in these rooms. It is NOT out there in the yard, but there was something palpable & present that they were hungry for & could feel.
To the questions, "Why did you come, what do you hope to get out of Kairos?" so many answered, "We want to make a change; We want to learn about God". They were attentive right from the start. Pens in hands & notebooks ready. Keen to listen & learn... read more

Kairos Outside - Share the Message
It is well known that close friends and family members suffer emotionally, socially and even financially when someone close to them goes to prison. Those women on the outside often feel they have little support as they try to cope with their loneliness, rejection, anger, despair and disruption of normal family life. Kairos Outside is a residential weekend that brings together women who have ever lived with the trauma of another's incarceration and so, through no fault of their own, have found themselves in their own kind of prison.
The question is, how can more women know about this ministry? Friends, family, churches and support services need to tell them! We have brochures and postcards that can be displayed or we can arrange for someone to come and speak to groups.

Contact Details and Updates
The Board continues in its role to be responsible to develop policies and practices that not only align with our manuals but also endeavours to keep volunteers and participants safe. The Board strives to mitigate risks and keeps watch on compliance with Government authorities. At the same time, the Board seeks to support the Regions and States in their responsibilities for the ministry. To this end, there will be good news for the Regions, God willing, by the end of Easter with our database.
Regarding the database, it will only be as good as everyone makes it. There will be a special opportunity coming soon to make sure your details are correct and I encourage you all to take a few moments to do this, especially because of the bloom in programs expected this year. In the mean time, you can check your contact details by clicking the button below.
Another issue that arises is that of those who have departed this life and are now with Christ in heaven. It would be good for the Kairos Support Office (KSO) to know about this either through Regional Committees or directly to KSO. You can email our office by clicking the "Email KSO" button below or by sending an email to info@kairos.org.au
