Volunteer News

Hello everyone.

January has just flown by. During the month we have been blessed to be able to complete both a Kairos Inside Advanced Kairos Training and a Kairos Outside Advanced Kairos Training. 11 volunteers and 3 trainers attended the KI AKT in mid-January. At the end of January, 9 volunteers (including one trainee volunteer) and 3 trainers attended the KO AKT. The feedback has been extremely positive with training combining technical elements and role modelling of some activities which leaders and their teams have struggled with over the past 12 months.

This month the governance section of our newsletter has been dedicated to guiding upcoming leaders and Regional Committees on the steps which need to be followed in preparing to lead a Program. I hope that you find it useful.

Next month we will be covering the processes involved in preparing upcoming potential leaders to become eligible for ratification as leaders of future Programs.

I pray that our Lord will continue to walk with our 2025 leadership teams as they prepare to lead their teams throughout this year and that any impediments to our completing the Programs will be swept aside by our Lord.

Thank you to all our volunteers who have answered God's call to be on a team this year - your commitment and dedication is greatly appreciated. May you be a blessing to the men and women that you encounter and may you be blessed as team members.

Process for getting ready to lead a Program

  • After receiving approval from the Regional Committee, the Leader prepares an application to attend an Advanced Kairos Training course (AKT).
  • Leader attends the AKT course and receives accreditation.
  • Regional Committee Chair prepares an application for ratification of the leader and sends it to the relevant State Council Secretary. See MyKairosOz for documents.
  • The State Council ratifies the leader after having checked that all conditions have been met
  • The Regional Committee's State Council representative notifies the Regional Committee that the leader has been ratified.
  • The Regional Committee Chair prepares a Program Notification Form available on MyKairosOz and forwards it to the Kairos Support Office – operations@kairos.org.au – Bruce Bond.
  • Bruce Bond the Office Manager at the Kairos Support Office sends an email back to the leader of the upcoming program acknowledging receipt of Program Notification Form. See sample here.
  • Bruce Bond initiates a series of processes to register the Program, order the EZRA download for the program, organise the email help desk to set up the leader and agape email addresses, prayer vigil link, circulation of the excellence initiative questionnaire to the leader and the State Excellence Initiative Coordinator, organise entries onto both the Australian and International calendars. He also provides information about music and copyright obligations.
  • He also outlines the post Program obligation to provide information on team members including name and contact details, role on team and talks or meditations which each team has presented during the program. The diagram above shows this process. Click here to download a PDF version.
  • Leader attends EZRA Zoom training sessions. Training sessions in 2025 are being run on 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st March 2025 - 7.30pm to 8.30 pm AEST. Pre attendance materials will be circulated before each session- videos of topics which will be covered in the question-and-answer training sessions
  • Leader receives leader's Kairos email.
  • Download the leaders assistant checklist from EZRA.  Click here to see a sample.
