Welcome back on the water!  Let's start the year with lots of cheer and a nudge into a BIG 2023!  For those who were able to attend the Pink Paddle Power Regatta and Gala, there were amazing results thanks to DA Melbourne Pink Phoenix (and DBVic)!  300+ paddlers and supporters raced at Docklands and then continued onto Marvel Stadium to dance the night away. It was energising - so much so many of us enjoyed an 8km paddle up the Yarra River the following morning to refresh ourselves! Can we sound a mighty roar of congratulations Pink Phoenix, for a massive effort in their inaugural year.

As we head into a 'water rabbit' Lunar New Year celebration... I bet you are twitching to know what else is on the calendar?  

We are excited to announce the 25th DAA Anniversary celebration is currently being organised. Please earmark your diaries the weekend Friday 27 to Sunday 29th October 2023 as time to come together on Darling Harbour, Sydney.

DAA are calling all members to join us on at beautiful Darling Harbour to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit. 

Opening Ceremony - Friday 27th January

Sports racing - Sat. 28th January

BCS Racing & Closing Ceremony - Sun. 29th January

Volunteers Needed - 18 Drummers and 24 Cheer Dragons, as well as paddling in the opening ceremony!

Dragons Abreast Australia are calling for nominations from our Member Groups for the flag bearer to represent DAA members at the upcoming AusChamps,

Is there somebody in your Member Group who embodies the DAA Spirit and you would like to recognise by nominating them for this honour?

The ceremony will be held on Sat 22nd April and the flag bearer will need to be present at the Championships on this date.

Please submit a jpeg photo and 10 lines on why you have nominated them by 28th February to chair@dragonsabreast.org.au
