Greetings everyone.
September and October have been extremely busy months for us all. Since I returned from my annual leave, I have had the privilege to spend time with members of the Kairos Outside community in North Queensland and then spend a week in Brisbane. I attended the Brisbane 30th Celebration event at Redeemer Lutheran Christian College and spent a week with Col and Robyn Stiller along with CEO of Kairos Prison Ministry International Evelyn Lemly.
Col, Evelyn and I then travelled to Sydney for meetings with our major donors. We also attended the Sydney 30th Celebration event at Stanhope Anglican Church at which we were joined by over 200 participants - both existing volunteers, active and retired, and those who had heard the radio advertisements and felt a prompting to attend.
In late September Jackie Stoneman and I attended a meeting with NSW Corrective Services in Sydney to discuss the content and preparation of a new Memorandum of Understanding between Kairos NSW State Council and NSW Department of Corrective Services. It is hoped that this document will be signed by 31 December. It will grant us permission to liaise with Governors in all prisons in NSW. Thank you, Lord, for your abundant blessings and opening doors! Both the donors and the Assistant Commissioner were extremely supportive of our ministry and keen to know more about our activities and the ministry itself.
In late October I flew down to Adelaide to join with Col and attend the final 30th Celebration event at Burnside Uniting Church. The Adelaide community has been very hospitable, and the event was well supported with over 100 people attending despite heavy rainfall during the day. Please join with me in congratulating and thanking both the 30th Anniversary Committee Chair Terry Clancy, the committee members, the local event coordinators and State Chairs - Joan, Jackie and Hugo for MCing the events.
The anniversary events have been a wonderful opportunity for us all to come together to celebrate and encourage one another. It has been a privilege to spend time with so many of our volunteers. You are all amazing and I thank you for your unwavering commitment and dedication to our ministry.
Praise the Lord for overseeing the successful completion of Short Courses at Goulburn, Port Augusta Mannus and Alexander Maconochie Correctional Centres and for the successful completion of Guest Weekends in Canberra and New England.
Please join me in praying for the KI Dillwynia, KI Mobilong, KI Mid North Coast Womens and KO Sydney teams as they continue their Team Formations in preparation for conducting Short Courses and Guest Weekends in November.
Please consider signing up for the prayer rosters for these four programs.
Thank you for the opportunity to work and walk beside you all as we continue to be Christs hands and feet delivering His messages of love hope and forgiveness.
